Objectives • Provide v9 Upgrade Update • Demonstrate new features specific to Academic Advisement • Discuss new features specific to the integration of Academic Advisement and Planner, Shopping Cart, Registration • Better understand how the new features may impact your internal business processes (from the perspectives of Student, Advisor, Staff & Reporting)

  3. v9 Upgrade Overview • “Center” concept • Student Center, Faculty Center, Student Services Center • Different look and feel • New navigational paths • New features / enhancements throughout • Targeted go-live: June, 2008

Academic Advisement – New Features • Integrated with Planner, Shopping Cart, Registration • Planner: Optional tool for students to use; add courses to a projected term • Shopping Cart: Similar to Backpack; allows students to add classes prior to registration for a specific term • Registration: Enrollment transactions; working toward the ability to enroll for more than one class at a time

Academic Advisement – Reporting Tools Two different reporting tools for degree audit data • Interactive Reports • Used primarily by students as a planning tool; e.g., search for classes based on their academic requirements • On-line, real-time • PDF Report • Used primarily to track progress toward degree • 2 column/landscape; different layout than v8; easier to read! • Point in time

Interactive Tools – Student • Plan by Requirements • Add courses to My Planner • Includes Enrolled, Transfer Credit, In Progress, Planned, Shopping Cart courses • Search by My Requirements • Add classes to My Shopping Cart for a specific term • Includes Enrolled, Transfer Credit, In Progress, Planned, Shopping Cart courses • My Academic Requirements • Evaluate degree progress, plan courses, enroll in classes • Drill down to course/class detail • Includes Enrolled, Transfer Credit, In Progress courses (does not include Planned or Shopping Cart courses)
