Who we are „80 % of all decisions affecting business are directly or indirectly pre-determined in Brussels“ The CEETB was founded in 1976 as the joint European association of electrical, telecommunication, heating, air conditioning, ventilation and plumbing contractors. Through its members AIE and GCI-UICP, the CEETB represents about 450,000 specialist contractors with 2,400,000 employees in the EU and beyond. The overall turnover of thesecompanies represents, within the EU, about 200 billionEuros.

  3. Who we are Specialist contractors represent one quarter of the total turnover in construction and 31% of that of the building sector. For certain projects, the technical equipping of buildings represents 50% or more of the total project costs.

Safety of gas installations • GCI-UICP and the European gas suppliers association • MARCOGAZ have established a joint working group • with the following priorities. • Development and promotion of recommendations for • the safety of domestic gas installations; • Development of a system for the mutual recognition of national skills requirements for gas installers. GCI-UICP

Quality of drinking water installations • GCI-UICP and the European water suppliers association EUREAU have established a joint working group with the following priorities. • Contributing to the revision of the drinking water directive; • Development of joint recommendations on minimum qualifications for plumbing contractors and inspections of domestic drinking water supply systems; • Development of a water safety plan for buildings. GCI-UICP

  12. GCI-UICP and Standardisation GCI-UICP is a member of NORMAPME and has there-fore direct access to all standardisation activities. • Priorities: • Energy efficiency of buildings (directive 2002/91) • Standards for gas- and water installations • Energy services GCI-UICP
