  2. 1) Appeasement- Policy of allowing the aggressor to do what they want in order to maintain peace 2) Isolationism- A policy of remaining apart from the affairs or interests of other groups 3) Munich Conference- Meeting between the major powers of Europe to try to maintain peace 4) Third Reich- The Third German Empire 5) Nazi-Soviet Pact- Peace agreement between Germany and the Soviet Union

  3. 6) Blitzkrieg- German style of fighting during World War II (lightning warfare) 7) Neville Chamberlain- Prime Minister of Great Britain that endorsed the policy of appeasement 8) Winston Churchill- Prime Minister of Great Britain during World War II 9) Axis Powers- World War II alliance of Germany, Italy and Japan 10) Franklin D. Roosevelt- US President during World War II

  4. 11) Pearl Harbor- Hawaiian naval base attacked by Japanese planes that brought the US into World War II 12) Allied Powers- World War II alliance of Great Britain, Soviet Union and the United States 13) Holocaust- Systematic mass slaughter of the Jewish race and other groups that were judged inferior by the Nazis 14) Kristallnacht- “Night of Broken Glass” in which the Nazi Party launched a violent attack on the Jews
