  2. Info! • The capital of Argentina is Buenos Aires • They speak Spanish • Argentina has the 32nd largest population in the world! • Their currency is ‘peso’ ($)

  3. Food! • Alfajores- an Argentine version of American tea pastry • Argentina if famous for it’s high protein diet- especially beef • Tomatoes, onions, lettuce, eggplants, squashes and zucchini- are popular side dishes

  4. Sport! • The Argentine Football team are very famous all around the world • They won the World Cup 3 times! • The national sport of Argentina is Pato • There is LOTS more sports played!

  5. Climate! • In the north it’s subtropical and in the south it’s subpolar- the weather is extreme! • One of Argentina’s main attractions is it’s hot climate • Everyone thinks Argentina is always hot, but at the South it’s not

  7. Religion! • Most of the people in Argentina are Roman Catholic • It has the largest Jewish population in Latin America • 11% of Argentines are non religious, however 4% believe in God, not religion

  8. War! • The Falkland’s War happened on Falkland Island, right next to Argentina • Argentina invaded the islands in 1982, precipitating the Falkland’s War
