Saturday, March 1 – Departing from Charlotte on an overnight flight to Copenhagen. • Sunday, March 2 – Sightseeing tour of Copenhagen. • Monday, March 3 – Train to bus to Bronderslev, where we will meet our host families. • Tuesday, March 4 – Friday, March 7 – Full immersion in the Danish culture! Time with host family and at school. • Saturday, March 8 – Bus to train back to Copenhagen. • Sunday, March 9 – Fly back to the U.S., excited to tell family and friends about your wonderful adventure!   4. No passport = no trip! • Give two copies of your passport to Ms. Hahn, along with one copy of your birth certificate. • We will take up your passports for the majority of the trip. Passport

  5. Copenhagen – Dinner and breakfast will be provided through the Passports fees, but you will be responsible for lunch. • Bronderslev – Meals will be provided by your host family. Meals

Danish currency: Krone • So, a shirt that costs 200 Krone equals how many US dollars? • You’ll need money for lunches/snacks, souvenirs, and possible activities in Bronderslev. • Be smart with your money. • As customary, please bring $10 to contribute towards a tip for our Copenhagen guides/couriers. $36.30 Money

  7. It is going to be chilly! • 30° lows and 42° highs. • Layers, layers, layers. • Pack light. Keep in mind that we will be moving luggage between planes, trains, and buses. • Limit your medium-size suitcase to 23-26” • Carry-ons are limited to 22“ x 14" x 9" • Beware of fees for bags that are overweight. • Bring a pair of comfortable shoes.   8. Video: The Danish Language • While most people will speak fluent or semi-fluent English, enjoy soaking in their very different language. Language

Be careful with technology use/overuse. • Bring a card and possibly small gift as a thank-you for your host family. • Remember you are representing your school and your country. • Be polite at all times and take every opportunity to learn about the culture. • Bring your own life to share with host family – pictures, stories, etc. – they will want to know about you!
