  1. Energy level prescribing

  2. Characteristics of the child • Short statured, lively child. • Instant rapport with people around him • Bubbly child who loves dancing and is continuously on the move. • He was going round and round in circles many times during the interview. • He seemed to love being kissed, cuddled and hugged by his mother. • At times he would bite her mother hard if he felt his movements were restricted by her. • There was blueness of the skin (cyanosis) noticed soon after the delivery.

  3. Characteristics of the mother • During the third trimester she experienced severe respiratory distress and had to sleep out in a tent. • She also developed a craving for natural spring water during her pregnancy which contains an increased level of oxygen. • She also developed severe respiratory distress during labor as a result of which the baby developed cyanosis(blueness of skin) and he had to be put on a ventilator. (0:23-1:13)

  4. Clincher to the remedy • The observation of the child repeatedly going round in circles. • The child and the mother had respiratory distress along with cyanosis and needed to be put on oxygen on different occassions. • The craving for spring water during pregnancy. • The remedy given was Carbon Oxygenisatum (Carbon Monoxide a common air pollutant and toxic when present in large doses) that has a characteristic symptom- ‘Going around in circles’.

  5. Remedy • The child was administered the homeopathic remedy Carbon Oxygenisatum . The child responded very swiftly to the remedy in homeopathic dilutions and within a short period he could tolerate foods that would disagree with him earlier. He rapidly gained weight as he was able to assimilate foods in a better way due to which his general immunity to ward off other infections has improved greatly.
