  2. Biography Selena was born in Texas on April 16, 1971. Around the age of 10, Selena became the lead singer in her family band. They were called Selena Y Los Dinos.

  3. Biography Selena crecio hablandio Inglés, pero sa padre le enseño a cantar en sepañol. Selena went and graduated in 1989 from the American school of correspondence high school in Chicago, Illinois.

  4. Biography • Selena se caso con Chris Pérez en 02 de abril 1992. When Selena graduated she enrolled at Pacific Western University as a correspondence student taking business classes.

  5. Accomplishment #1 Después de la muerte selena gano artista tributo especial del eño. Parte de esta nominacion un concierto de homenaje se llevo a cabo. It was held in Houston reliant stadium, over 65,000 fans attended.

  6. Accomplishment #1 • It featured stars like Floria Estefan, Soraya, Thalia, Paulina Rubio, Fey and many other famous Latin performers. The concert ended with all the performers and crowd singing along with Selena`s 1995 Houston Astrodome performance of Como La flor. • Selena would have been very proud to see that this concert had the most viewed spanish language show in American television History.

  7. Accomplishment #2 • In 1993 Selena won a Grammy for best Mexican-American performance for her album Selena Live. • En el mismo año se comenzo a diseñar. • Selena decided that she wanted to start a clothing line.

  8. Accomplishment #2 • Selena opened two Selena Etc. boutiques. • Estas tiendas abiertas en Corpus Christi Y San Antonio • Both the stores had in-house beauty salons. • Selena made more than 5 million dollars from these boutiques.

  9. Legacy • Selena habia sido asesinado por un fan en 31 de marzo 1995. • Selena was laid to rest at Seaside Memorial Park on April 3, 1995

  10. Legacy • George W. Bush named April 16, 1995 as Selena day in Texas. • Selena is considered one of the top 10 most important Latin's in history. • In 1998 Selena was picked by people magazine as one of the most intriguing people of the century.
