  3. Probability sampling is designed to allow extrapolation from a small, highly representative sample, to a larger population. This statistical inference allows us to describe a population. Used when you want to answer the “where” and “how many” questions. Probability Sampling

  4. Used when you want to say something about a discrete phenomena, a few select cases (people, places, objects, etc.) or when you want to answer the “how” and “why” questions. NON-Probability Sampling
