  5. I. Conjugate Acids and Bases • Conjugate Base– The compound that remains after a Bronsted-Lowry acid has given off its H+. • Conjugate Acid– The compound that is formed when a Bronsted-Lowry base gains a H+. HA + B  A- + BH+

  6. Class Example • Identify the acid, base, conjugate acid, and conjugate base: HBr + NaOH  H2O + NaBr
