  2. Background • Understanding the AFM’s strategic history: • 2000: Master Plan. • 2012: Vision 20/20 Plan. • 2013: Two formal documents attempting to provide direction for the church as a whole. • 2013: The National Office Bearers consolidated the Master Plan and the Vision 20/20 Plan to present the church with ONE PLAN. This plan is now called the One AFM Game Plan.

  3. One AFM Game Plan • The heart of the One AFM Game Plan: • Moving in unity to fulfil our missional calling (Great Commission as in Matthew 28) • Focus areas: • Empowerment • Ecumenical • Socio-Economic Relevance • Governance • Discipleship • One Mission, One Plan, One Church.

  4. What are the challenges now? • AFM colleagues need to get on the same page regarding the meaning of the 5 focus areas. • At present the plan is a theoretical document. AFM colleagues need to come up with practical activities that will lead to the implementation of the plan. • AFM colleagues need to unite as ONE church behind this plan.

  5. Solution • Last year the NOB adopted the One AFM Game Plan Processas a means to address these challenges. • In the One AFM Game Plan: • We think of all AFM Colleagues as a TEAM; the AFM TEAM. • The game? MISSIONAL CHURCH. • The stake? Fulfilling the Great Commission. • We think of pastors as Great Commission COACHES and MENTORS.

  6. Solution • The One AFM Game Plan has the following objectives: • To strengthen commitment & passiontowards our God-given calling: the Great Commission. • To create mutual understandingof the key focus areas. • To produce practical definitionsof each focus area. • To define roles & responsibilities for people on all levels of the AFM.
