Dev2Publish - Kick Off Today’s schedule 10:00 The course is introduced Examples of simple yet successful games Microsoft presents the possibilities of the Market Place and the tools 11:30 Lunch break 12:30 Game Templates A student team of Turku Game Lab presents their Unity Tool Unity Codexo Asset Pack for Starters & templates that are made with it Other templates are presented Discussion Dev2Publish

  3. ”Have you shipped a game?” During this course you will gain experience: • how the digital distribution model works • what are the requirements to publish a game • to learn platform specific content creation • how to further develop the product • how to monetize the game • how to name the product • how to plan icons and other marketing material to the game • learn user behavior and get feedback for the game (after the game is published) • the Game Industry values students who have actually published games Dev2Publish

Structure • The timetable of the first course from 8th of May to 15th of June. • 8 hours in a week scheduled laboratory hours on Thursdays with teachers and experts from the Turku Game Lab present to give support and teach game development • The experts from Microsoft & Turku Game Lab will give publishing workshop on 5th of June • We will give a few templates with core mechanics • More advanced students can work with their own project • The aim is to have at least one playable level with future DLC or an endless runner. • Form form small teams 2-3 students • Game must be submitted 15th of June • Publish EVENT 16th and 17th of June, Publish by 1st of June Dev2Publish
