Developments in Mars Exploration Since March 2010 MEPAG Meeting Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) continues development and is retiring risk Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution Mission (MAVEN) is continuing development as the 2013 Scout mission (B. Jakosky PI) ESA and NASA have signed an agreement for joint 2016 and 2018 missions, and a joint selection for Investigations for the 2016 ExoMars Orbiter were made The Decadal Survey final report is expected March 2011 MEPAG Goals document has been revised and released

Goals for this Meeting • Update the community on progress in the exploration of Mars including NASA, European Space Agency • Evaluate and provide input to ongoing activities and SAGs • Mars Sample Return End-to-end International SAG • Discuss Outreach activities and how these benefit the science community/how you might get involved • Initiate activities from MEPAG to develop positions and inputs to future MEP activities

MEPAG Town Hall Discussion Topic: Preliminary results of E2E iSAG Fall 2010 AGU Date: TBD Either Wednesday 12/15 OR Thursday, 12:30pm-1:30pm Participants must register for at least one day of the AGU conference to participate in person.   7. SAVE THE DATE!! Pre-Conference Mars Science Team meetings All day Sunday (June 12) and half-day Monday (June 13): Open for Mars science team meetings. International Conference on the Exploration of Martian Habitability DATES:  Mid-day, Monday through end of day Wednesday, June 13-15 (2.5 days):  1st International MEPAG meeting. Dates: Thursday through mid-day Friday, June 16-17 (1.5 days): Post-meeting field trip. Dates: Saturday to Monday/Tuesday, June 18-20/21 (3-4 days). Rio Tinto, and other Mars-relevant aspects of the local geology. Week of June 12, 2011: “Mars Week” in Europe Lisbon, Portugal Field
