  1. Good morning, Mrs. Venolia! Office Expectations

  2. What does the Office Staff do? • Help students and staff • Answer phones • Assist parents • Paperwork: discipline, attendance • Order materials & supplies • Answer questions • Input information into the computer

  3. Being RESPECTFUL Means: Honoring the rights or wishes of the office staff.

  4. Wait Patiently • Stand in a single file line. • Do not interrupt conversations: phone or in person. • Do not talk to others while you are waiting.

  5. Be Polite to Staff • Look towards the adults when they are speaking. • Say “Please” and “Thank you” • Talk to adults when directed to do so.

  6. When you are in the office, these people can help you… • Principal – Mrs. Venolia • Secretary – Miss Debbie • Health Tech – Miss Amy • Nurse – Mrs. Sanchez

  7. Being RESPONSIBLE Means: Going directly to and from the office with a pass. Where’s your PASS?! GO AWAY!

  8. Politely Seek Assistance • If you have a note to pick up something from the office it is on the bookshelf by the window. Tell Miss Amy or Miss Debbie that you are there to pick up something. • Use a Voice Level 1 - inside voice. • Walk up to the counter when it is your turn if you have a question.

  9. Mind Your Own Business • Do not listen to other’s conversation. • Do not add to other’s conversation. • Do not comment on peer’s business.

  10. Uh OH! Being SAFE Means: Following office expectations so you will be less likely to get hurt or hurt others. Only grown ups should be in the J Work Room.

  11. Keep Hands, Feet, and Objects to Self • Respect other’s personal space. • Ask permission before using office supplies. • Keep materials to yourself.

  12. WAIT! While Seated and Waiting to Be Picked Up or to Speak to the Principal… • Keep both feet on the floor. • Keep all four legs of the chair on the floor. • Use only one chair at a time.

  13. WAIT! Make it a great day in the office or not… The choice is yours!
