  2. Bastille • The Bastille was built during the Middle Ages. The Bastille in Paris was used as a prison. “Down with the Bastille!” Was one of the first cries of the rioters at the beginning of the French Revolution. • Marlinda

  3. Bastille Day • Bastille day is a day of celebrations of French culture. Many large scales public events are held, including a military parade in Paris, as, well as commual meals, dances, parties and fireworks. This event is taken place Paris, France on July 14 of every year. Crisstal.

  4. How the Bastille started. • The Bastille was built in response to a threat to Paris during the hundred years war between England and France. Prior to the Bastille, the main royal castle in Paris was the Louvre, in the west of the capital, but the city had expanded by the middle of the 14th century and the eastern side was now exposed to an English attack. The situation worsened after the imprisonment ofJohn ll in England following the French defeat at the battle of Poitiers, and in his absence the, Etienne Marcel, took steps to improve the capital's defenses. • Marlinda

  5. About The Bastille. • It was designed to be 24m in height, and cast from the bronze of cannons taken from the Spanish.  You would have been able to access the top was going to be achieved by a stairway set in one of the legs of the monument, however, only a scale plaster model was ever built.
