HRSA grant Proposed by the White House in the January 2013 Now is the Time Initiative, one of the Nation’s goals is improve behavioral health services for children, adolescents, and transitional-age youth by training more quality behavioral health professionals with a commitment to serve these at-risk populations.
HRSA grant Key components: • $1.2million over 3 yrs • Provides stipends to concentration year MSW students in targeted field placements
HRSA grant Develop and expand the substance abuse and mental health workforce targeting children, adolescents, and transitional-age youth (16 to 25 years old) who are at risk or who have developed a recognized behavioral health disorder
HRSA grant Emphasis on Transitional-age persons who are among the least likely to seek continuous help Violence awareness and prevention Involvement of families in the prevention and treatment of behavioral health disorders
HRSA grant • Recruit students • Develop and implement interprofessional training and integration with primary care • Develop and implement field placements and internships focused on serving children, adolescents, and transitional-age youth in an integrated primary care setting • Work with HRSA, SAMHSA and other grantees to evaluate the program, collect program information, and disseminate findings to appropriate audiences
Develop interdisciplinary collaborations which support improved outcomes for persons 0-26yrs, with an emphasis on at-risk and transition aged youth
