  2. Arturo Pérez-Reverte Gutiérrez nacido en Cartagena el 25 de noviembre de 1951. Es un novelista y periodista español. Desde el año 2003 es miembro de la Real Academia Española ; elegido el 23 de enero de 2003 y tomó posesión el 12 de junio de 2003. Arturo Perez-Reverte Gutierrez born in Cartagena on November 25, 1951. He is a novelist and Spanish journalist. From the year 2003 he is a member of the Royal Spanish Academy; chosen on January 23, 2003 and it took possession on June 12, 2003.

En materia de novelas, el escritor lleva creadas cerca de 18 obras, algunas de las cuales han sido adaptadas al cine, como en el caso de “La tabla de Flandes”, “El maestro de esgrima”, “El club Dumas”, “El capitán Alatriste” y “La carta esférica”. “El húsar”, “Territorio comanche”, “La reina del Sur”, “Cabo Trafalgar” y “El pintor de batallas” son otros de los títulos a través de los cuales Arturo Pérez-Reverte ha conseguido fama internacional. Perez-Reverte has achieved along his your path diverse awards and distinctions, as the Distinguished Medal of the Canton of Cartagena (granted by the Cantonal Party of Cartagena), the Prize Asturias of Journalism, the Prize Waves, the Prize Goya, the Prize Palle Rosenkranz, the Prize Jean Monnet of European Literature, the Prize Foreign Mediterranean and the Prize Gonzalez Ruano, between(among) others. In addition, hehad the honor of there being named Gentleman of the Order of the Arts and Letters of France, decorated with the Great Cross to the Merit Naval and recognized with San Telmo's Golden medal, by the Foundation Letters of the Mar. Pérez-Reverte ha logrado a lo largo de su trayectoria diversos galardones y distinciones, como la Medalla Laureada del Cantón de Cartagena (otorgada por el Partido Cantonal de Cartagena), el Premio Asturias de Periodismo, el Premio Ondas, el Premio Goya, el Premio Palle Rosenkranz, el Premio Jean Monnet de Literatura Europea, el Premio Mediterráneo Extranjero y el Premio González Ruano, entre otros. Además, tuvo el honor de ser nombrado Caballero de orden de las artes y las letras en Francia, condecorado con la Gran Cruz al Mérito Naval y reconocido con la Medalla de Oro de San Telmo, por la Fundación Letras del Mar.
