  2. REGISTER TO VOTE • Visit Iowa Secretary of State Website – https://sos.iowa.gov • Download/complete Voter Registration form – return to County Auditor’s office • No internet? Contact County Auditor

  3. WHO ARE YOUR CANDIDATES? • Which district do you live in? Visit Iowa Legislature website https://www.legis.iowa.gov/legislators/find and enter your address information • See complete list of candidates for the November General Election at the Secretary of State’s website

  4. VISIT WITH YOUR CANDIDATES • All candidates have websites – put candidate name in search engine • Sites include list of upcoming appearances and events • No internet access – call County Auditor

  5. VISIT WITH YOUR CANDIDATES • Attend candidate event – ask questions • Contact candidate directly and ask for an appointment with him or her • Invite candidate to visit your school, attend a school function

  6. ASK YOUR CANDIDATEQUESTIONS!!!!!

  7. STO PROGRAM • Are you aware of the School Tuition Organization (STO) Tax Credit Program? • Do you support the STO program? • Would you support expanding this tax credit cap?

  8. SCHOOL CHOICE Do you consider yourself a supporter of school choice – the idea that ALL Iowa parents should have access to the educational choice that best meets their child’s needs?

  9. SCHOOL CHOICES What are your thoughts on • Nonpublic schools? • Virtual schools? • Charter Schools? • Home instruction? • Public Schools?

  10. PERSONAL CHOICES • Do you/did you have school-age children? • What schools do/did they attend?

  11. EDUCATION SAVINGS ACCOUNTS • Have you heard of the Education Savings Account? (ESA) • This program idea involves parents not enrolling their child in a public school receiving a deposit of state funds into an ESA to be used for educational expenses. • Would you support the creation of such a program in Iowa?

Absentee ballot – watch out for deadlines and rules! Auditor • Can register on election day at polling place • Encourage others – offer transportation
