  2. What is SGA? • Every student is a member of SGA! • We give voice to the student body on opinions of academic and co-curricular affairs. • We represent the interests of the student body to the administration, faculty and staff. • Hold membership in various committees on campus.

  4. Committees • Traffic Appeals Board: • Responsible for hearing and making judgment upon any appealed traffic violation. • Budget Committee: • Responsible for the disbursement of funds to student clubs and organizations.

  5. Committees • Elections Committee: • Responsible for conducting the elections of the SGA in accordance with the guidelines set forth its constitution. • Organizational Affairs Committee: • Responsible for supporting student club and organization needs at Penn State Behrend and for reviewing club/organization constitutions and assure that University Policy is being followed

  6. Committees • Public Relations Committee: • Responsible for advertising and promoting SGA events and committees. • Academic Affairs Committee: • Responsible for improving academic and advising relations between students and faculty at Behrend.

Committees • Diversity Committee: • Responsible for raising awareness and tolerance on campus regarding diversity issues and break down barriers that separate the student body. • Community Affairs Committee: • Responsible for working with members of the local Erie community to improve student-community relations.

Committees • Student Affairs Committee: • Responsible for improving student life on and off of campus through student input from commuters and residents, as well as working towards implementation of what students would like to see change in student life. • THON Committee: • Responsible for organizing, planning, and carrying out fundraising efforts for The Pennsylvania State University IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon

  10. Ideas? • EMTA Transportation The E. Free college student transportation (Contact Greener Behrend) • Wait longer for students to arrive to the bus stop, schedule the buses around class schedules. • Revise Parking System (Free Parking) Lower prices • Publicly available information on traffic money allocated. Make sure they’re spending the money responsibly. • Poor Housing Cable (Other options) (Allegheny College offers cable boxes) • Wireless Internet in dorms. Bandwidth Restricions • Air Conditioning in Residence Halls, common temperature for classrooms. • No Hispanic Channels • CHANGE PROVIDER. • Upgrade option. • Extending Dobbins’ hours. (Dinner) • Food on campus before 2 • Extend Library Hours (weekends)LOWER TUITION. (sorry) • Recycling percentage. RECYCLE. More Advertising. Single stream recycling. • Bruno’s Dollar Menu?

  11. Ideas? • Vegetarian options. • Tofu? Refried beans on tacos. • Different milk…? • Advertise ATMs. Upstairs in REED, in dorms. • Trash cans near apartments and Ohio along the walkways • More kosher food options/halal. • E-mail spam, option to remove yourself from mailing lists. Connor… • SMOKING. • Outside entrance smoking area. 15 feet from entrances? • Other campuses with bus station smoking hubs students have to smoke in. • Costs a lot of $$$ = Tuition $$$ health > $. • Sell cigarettes on campus and gum! bookstore… • Overpriced cigarettes towards
