  9. Evangelistic Decline in the 1950s-60s? "Apparently, some two thirds of Seventh-day Adventist ministerial leaders, evangelists, and field administrators [in the late 50s] either felt that public evangelism was indeed outmoded, or were not certain about its present utility, or that considering other financial obligations of the denomination, large public campaigns were no longer feasible." Howard Weeks, Adventist Evangelism in the Twentieth Century, p. 246.

  22. Are We Ready for Another Remarkable Year?

  23. Objectives for 2010 • To intentionally prioritize the need for spiritual renewal at every level of the church, including days of fasting and prayer, and the reading of God’s Word • To work towards the full and direct engage-mentof all church members, as well as that of pastors and leaders everywhere

  24. Objectives for 2010 • To disciple new believers for participation in the mission of the Church • To reclaim inactive and former members in the ministry of Jesus.

  25. Goals for 2010 1. The division, every union, conference, and Adventist institution, to focus on spiritual renewal 2. Fifty percent (50%) of the NAD churches to hold fasting/prayer weekends

  26. Goals for 2010 3. Every pastor in the NAD to be engaged in a clear cycle of evangelism, including reaping opportunities 4. Every conference, union, and division officer and departmental leader to participate in direct evangelistic activity

  27. Goals for 2010 5. Fifty percent (50%) of all new believers to be trained for ministry and outreach 6. Ten percent (10%) increase in Sabbath attendance in all NAD congregations 7. 100,000 lay members trained and/or engaged in evangelism across the NAD 8. 100,000 souls baptized

  28. Only God can bring about remarkable progress in our midst. For this, God Himself must become our personal priority, and His burden for the lost our corporate reason for being!
