  2. The Online Mapping Tool provides visualization and exploration of the data available in the ESPON Database through maps and charts. This tool fills the gap between the data tables (produced by the ESPON Database) and the static maps (provided by the ESPON Online MapFinder and ESPON projects). The ESPON Online Mapping Tool is an interactive mapping tool available via a Web Browser, from laptops and Android devices, where users can select, combine and overlay indicators from the ESPON database, choose the geography and even include animations based on indicator time series. Users are guided taking account the data available in each moment in the Database. Maps can be shared through mail or social networks, promoting in this way the potential of the ESPON Database.   5. The ESPON Mapping Tool has been developed to produce maps in an easy way, so, no scientific knowledge or expert knowledge in GIS is needed to use it. In addition, some comparison tools have been included in order to analyze the correlation between data along the Regions and the Time. Because indicators are filtered by theme or policy, the Staff of the EU Commission and the Representative of the Members States can find useful RIMAP. Moreover, as a “General-Purpose” tool, researcher or people interested in territorial development issues will use RIMAP too. RIMAP – ESPON Mapping Tool – Target Users 5
