  1. A “Once in a Hundred Years” Sponsorship Opportunity The Bay Bridge Alliance will offer the Presenting Sponsor the opportunity to share in a unique regional, national, and international event demonstrating the pride and accomplishment of the completion of the new East Span of the Oakland-San Francisco Bay Bridge, the largest infrastructure project in the United States.

  2. On Labor Day weekend 2013, the Bay Area community will come together for a huge celebration of the opening of the new, iconic Bay Bridge. As the single largest public infrastructure project in California’s history, the new Bay Bridge stands as the most significant public works project in the last 100 years.

  3. More than just an architectural and engineering triumph, the new Bay Bridge is a symbol of the Bay Area’s position as the global center of innovation. Its opening marks not only the advent of a new architectural and engineering icon, but the end of a decades-long effort to deliver seismic safety to the region’s transportation network following the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.

  4. The 2013 Opening Celebration will feature a full day and a half of planned community events including the ceremonial chain-cutting to officially open the bridge, followed by a “once in a hundred years” opportunity for public access to the bridge which includes a family bridge walk, a bridge run/race, and a bicycling event across the bridge.

  5. An evening Gala Reception and Dinner hosted by local, state and national dignitaries will take place on Treasure Island followed by a live concert and a spectacular fireworks display along the full span of the Bay Bridge. The evening event will culminate in the official lighting of the new span and suspension tower. Kaiser Permanente

  6. A significant community component of the Bay Bridge project is the construction of a new public park and facility at the foot of the bridge. The new Gateway Park and public facilities will be dedicated in honor of the bridge opening and accompanied by community events that will occur through a series of public arts and education events leading up to the Labor Day Opening.

  7. The Labor Day events are expected to draw at least 500,000 participants across the Bay Area, with millions more following the events through various multimedia outlets. Kaiser Permanente
