  5. What is a sandal verb you ask? A sandal verb is a verb that has a stem change in the preterite. Sandal verbs

  6. Why is it called a sandal verb? Because it only stem changes in the “sole” of the shoe, just like a sandal. Sandal verbs

  7. Only –ir verbs have stem changes in the preterite. If an –ir verb has a stem change in the present then it has a stem change in the preterite but only in the third person forms (él,ella,Ud. and ellos/as/Uds.) Sandal verbs
