  2. Campus Police Automated Ticketing System Background For Project • The reason behind this project is that the current paper ticket system is very error-prone. • Current problems that exist with the system: • hard to read handwriting can cause information to be entered incorrectly into the database • sometimes an officer doesn’t see a decal and a ticket is given to a car that is correctly parked

  3. Campus Police Automated Ticketing System Overview of Our System Our system will automate the ticketing process by processing vehicle information through a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA). The system is intended to determine if a vehicle is violating parking restrictions when a license number entered and to enable automatic printing of all types of tickets given by Campus Police. In order to update, the PDA can be connected to a computer through a docking station in the Campus Police office and automatically update the existing parking information database if any new tickets were given.

  4. Campus Police Automated Ticketing System Benefits of our System • By using the Campus Police Automated Ticketing System: • less erroneous tickets will be given • confusion with handwriting will be eliminated • database updating will be much easier

  5. Campus Police Automated Ticketing System Writing Instruments for the PDA Onscreen Keyboard Stylus Pen There are two ways information is entered into the PDA, by using the onscreen keyboard (pictured left) and a stylus pen (pictured right)
