Education in Spain is decentralised and each region has the autonomy to organise and design their syllabus based on the regulations and laws established by the Spanish Education Ministry. • General Objectives Aimed For Adult Education • Acquisition and updating of Basic Education. • Facilitating access to the different levels of the Spanish Educational System, Vocational Training or General Certificate of Secondary Education and the Upper Secondary Certificate (Baccalauréat). • Development of adult participation skills in the social, cultural, political and economic areas of life. • Development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). • Encouraging the learning and use of foreign languages. • Development of programmes and courses that respond to the particular and specific needs of the social groups on risk of exclusion.

Areas of Knowledge To obtain a General Certificate in Secondary Education it is necessary to fulfil these three compulsory fields of knowledge: Basic Instrumental Education Technology, Work Life, and Society Personal Development and Social Participation • Communication: Spanish Language and Literature and English • Social Studies • Nature Sciences • Mathematics • Society and Employment • Tecnology and Society • Health and Consume • Social and Personal Skills • Gender and Society

  15. Grundtvig 2004-2006 APPROACHES TO THE PROMOTION OF ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP WITH DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES. The project is seen as a European network of NGO`s and other organizations from Belgium, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands and Spain devoted to promoting a better understanding of Active Citizenship in Europe. In order to ensure greater respect for democracy it is necessary to seek practical means of promoting active citizenship. The ATPAC-project will serve as a platform for partnership cooperation and for the development of a strategy for European aspects in the context of active citizenship. This platform will facilitate communication, the sharing of experiences related to the promotion of active citizenship and the creation of a process for dissemination best practices.

  16. Grundtvig 2007-2009 The partnership developed from an interest in inter-culture dialogue and awareness for learners, currently limited by social exclusion and disadvantage. Therefore, the project will deliver opportunities for inter-cultural awareness, explore traditions and share life-perspectives on aspiration, seeking employment and inclusion. A key activity of the project will be offering mobility opportunities to learners.
