  1. A DISTINCT PEOPLE – DON’T LOSE YOUR WAY 2 Cor. 6:14-18

  2. “Distinctness” – Out of Favor Everything must blend in – Political Correctness. Pressure to conform – from life style to evolution. What we believe – and how firm we are on our “faith” has always set us apart. In 1829 these “errors” were said to set the church of Christ apart. What do you believe?

  3. 1. “They distinguish sharply… Between the Old and New Covenants and hence abolish the Law of Moses.” Yes, and No. Law of Moses, and the Old Testament are inspired – just not binding today. They contained a “time element”. Set to self destruct. Jer. 31:31 – Heb. 8:8ff Gal. 3:15, 16, 19. “We” don’t abolish the Law of Moses, God did.

  4. Why Hold On To It? The Tithe Instrumental Music But – no sabbath worship, no animal sacrifices. No savior in O.T. Read Hebrews – Better sacrifice, better high priest, better law, better promise Rom. 7:1-7; 2 Cor. 3; Gal. 4 Terms of salvation in Christ are New Covenant.

  5. 2. “They hold conversion… To be wrought through the Word alone without any direct operation of the Holy Spirit…” Calvinism holds that a “totally depraved” person can’t come to truth w/o H.S. changing his heart. Unconditional election, Limited atonement, Irresistible Grace. God “opened Lydia’s heart” – Acts 16:14 Yes, but HOW? Lydia was already a worshipper of God – sound like a totally depraved person?

  6. Acts 26:18 – Paul sent to preach to open ears to truth. Holy Spirit “draws people” – John 6:44. Yes, but read verse 45. John 3:16 – Whosoever Matt. 11:28 – All you Acts 10:34 – no respecter of persons… All people who are saved are saved in the same manner – truth taught, people responded. Know what the Bible teaches. Know what you believe
