  2. SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCETHE UNBORN IS ALIVE • The Law of Biogenesis: All life comes from pre-existent life • Parents; sperm & egg; zygote, developing unborn; birth of the baby • There is a continuum of life • Life doesn’t begin at some stage of development; the unborn is alive at every stage!

SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCETHE UNBORN IS UNIQUE • At fertilization there are two distinct living things: the mother and the unborn • Half of the unborn are a different gender than the mother • The DNA of the zygote is unique from any other living thing; including the mother • In vitro fertilization proves that the unborn is capable of existence independent of the mother and is distinctly different from her

SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCETHE UNBORN IS HUMAN • The DNA of the zygote is human DNA and distinct from all other types of DNA • The Law of Biogenesis: each being reproduces after its own kind • Ants beget ants; dogs beget dogs; cows beget cows; and humans only beget humans • The unborn is a living unique human at fertilization and stays so until death

  7. LOGICAL REASONING • Apply all abortion reasoning to a 5 year old child: privacy; freedom to choose; back-alley abortions; poverty; unwanted; handicapped; wrong sex; rape or incest • Size • Level of development • Environment • Degree of dependency

  8. WORLDVIEWS • Metaphysics: What is real • Epistemology: What is true & how do you know • Ethics: What is right & wrong • Is there natural only or also supernatural? • Is truth relative or universal, absolute & objective? • How do you determine right & wrong?

  9. BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW • Metaphysics: One Holy Creator Triune God and His creation • Epistemology: God’s inerrant Word, and what corresponds to reality • Ethics: God’s character and His revealed commands

WORLDVIEW • We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. The Declaration of Independence • For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. Romans 1:18-19

And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:26-27

From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man. “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image. Genesis 9:5-6

  13. BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW • You shall not give any of your children to offer them to Molech, and so profane the name of your God: I am the LORD. Leviticus 18:21 • Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Psalm 127:3

BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW • “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5 • Thus says the LORD who made you, who formed you from the womb and will help you: Fear not, O Jacob my servant, Jeshurun whom I have chosen. Isaiah 44:2

Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. Psalm 139:13-16

  16. BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW • And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. Luke 1:43-44

  17. BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly. But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us). Matthew 1:18-23

Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” Psalm 82:3-4 • And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ Matthew 25:40
