Linked to the National Curriculum Key Stages 1-2 Schemes of work the project is an opportunity for your school to: • Take part in Environmental projects with members of the local community • Explore ways to promote the “Outdoor Classroom” and use of your school grounds • Link and work with local environmental groups and international schools • Organise visits to RSPB Reserves and other notable wildlife habitats • View live Nest Camera images from bird boxes in and outside the United Kingdom • Publish and share your pupil’s work worldwide on the project website • Help the RSPB collect valuable data to protect the environment For more information about the project visit:www.segfl.org.uk/www.segfl.org.uk/microsites2/worldofbirds2011

During the project pupils will have the opportunity to use ICT to: • Collect data and participate in “The Big Schools, Little Schools” Bird Watch • Research and find information about birds in and outside the United Kingdom • Web conference with RSPB Field Teachers and to link with overseas schools • Publish their own “bird stories and reports on the project website • Observe birds and other wildlife • Create their own Natural Trails and Walks • Create their own Environmental Magazine For more information about the project visit:www.segfl.org.uk/www.segfl.org.uk/microsites2/worldofbirds2011

  6. Training and Support Form ICT Training and project support covering the following areas is available to all schools. All training will be led by members of the project team. It can involve working with Class Teachers, Subject Coordinators, Year Groups, Whole Staff and pupils.   7. Project Costs All schools taking part in the project will be charged a £100 registration fee (£50 to schools with less than 100 pupils.) This will entitle schools to take part in all the planned activities except “Theme Days” at RSPB and other Environmental Centres. For these days schools who attend will be charged £5 per pupil. Typical charge for 6 pupils will be £30.
