  1. A group 101D production, by Beth Semel, Chantelle Tovee, Vanessa Bellringer and Emma Riley.

  2. What’s it about? • Our film starts off with a girl, waking up in a strange place and with dolls and peoples belongings hanging above her. As she scans the room, she then sees her Halloween mask on the floor next to her which brings her back to a flashback of the previous night, explaining how she got there. This takes us to the night before, where her and her friends are “trick or treating”, the last house she remembers seeing was the house of a strange man. As we come back to present day, she looks for a way to escape she sees the villain digging, and realises she is not the first one to be abducted. In this place, she finds many possessions and pictures of other girls who he has previously taken and somehow, got rid of. She keeps looking for a way to escape, then as the man comes bursting through the door, she backs up into a corner, realising there is no safe way out. The last we see of the girl, is her on the floor with a shovel coming at her. To connote her death, the kidnapper will then cross out her picture on the wall, with her own blood, and circling his next victim.

  3. Where would it go from there? • If this film was to continue, we meet her “trick of treating” friends, and through out the film they start to disappear. The sister of the girl is then determined to find out what’s happened, encountering many obstacles along the way before the final confrontation of the murderer.

  4. Target Audience and Rating • Our film is aimed at teenagers as this is the key age group for thriller/horrors. We feel this film will mainly affect teenagers, as our main character is a typical eighteen year old girl encountering horrors that teenagers can relate to, i.e. stalkers, kidnapping, torture, and murder. We rated this a 15 because we all agreed that the content of the film opening wasn’t too graphic and we wanted it to appeal to a larger audience. • RATING:

  5. Niche audience • 15-25 • Equal spread of males and females • Also interested in horror, thriller, action and crime. • The audience would also be interested in Halloween, YouTube and social network sites.

  6. Successful Films • We thought of some films that physically and mentally scared us, as we thought this would be a great starting point for creating a horror/thriller film. One main film that we felt was a massive influence to us, is ''The Lovely Bones'' (2009). Here, we have taken the idea of a psychopath who murders a large number of teenage girls and keeps certain possessions of theirs to keep as memorabilia. We thought this film was psychologically damaging and we've chosen to fit the idea of a psychopath into our film. Another influence is the “Human Centipede”, this film where the children get kidnapped and tortured, this highly relates to our film. • “Taken” is another influential film, where we have taken the idea of a family member seeking revenge.

  7. Mise-en-scene • To add the horror effect to our film, we will have dark lighting to create an eerie effect. There will also be locked cupboards around, to create a sense of mystery to the man and the place. The use of a shovel, decapitated barbie dolls and other household items will add fear, as the audience will easily be able to relate with these objects.

  8. Roles and Actors • Throughout the project we will all have a role. They are: • Producer - ChantelleTovee • Assistant Producer - Bethany Semel • Director - Vanessa Bellringer • Assistant Director - Emma Riley • Beth will play the first victim, with the others as the “trick or treat friends”. • Vanessa will be our make up artist, to add the correct effects. • Chantelle is in charge of making sure we have the right costume. • And we will use an outside student to play the killer.

  9. Recce This is the “strange place” where the girl will wake up. It is going to be cleared, and covered in hanging dolls, photographs of girls on the wall, and possessions of his previous victims. We will put white sheets up on the left wall, to show simplicity and add mystery.

  10. Recce cont... • This is the ceiling of the shed, where the victim will be held hostage. This shows how we will hang the items to make it more terrifying. • The hanging items include: • -dolls • clumps of hair • Wallets • -watches • -driving licence • -jewellery • -keys • -teddy bears • -items of clothing • -glasses • -masks

  11. ... This is the garden, which will show the man digging to show that he hides alot, connoting that this victim is not the first for him to kidnap. This also adds to her fear of not escaping.
