  2. Arts and Culture line During the first 2 years the students follow lessons in which a lot of topics concerning art and culture are offered. In the first year the Arts and Culture students have their own class with only arts and culture students All activities are planned into their school schedule In year 2 the students are mixed with students from the other 2 lines: sports and Plus Selection for admission

  3. Our didactic principles: Inspiring and challenging education by trying to connect to their interests Teaching them skills such as working independently, cooperation, presenting several subjects work together to provide a challenging project During regular lessons: arts related assignments

  4. Example of a schedule: * Muziek 1,5 uur * Kunstvakken 1,5 uur = tekenen en handvaardigheid

  5. lessons Arts and Culture • courses of 3 hours a week with different disciplines of art (e.g. steatite, theatre, photography, painting, fashion, dance etc.) • Lessons are given by teachers and professional artists • Students have a lot of experiences with arts and culture Every school year the students of both years prepare a interdisciplinary performance in our local theatre

  6. Challenging assignments • Every subject has tospendsome time on Arts and Culture, whenyouteachan Art and Culture class • Mini project combining different subjects such as English and Film

  7. Performance weeks • 3 x a year • We have a themeandtheywork on different disciplines • We usually finish this week withpresentationsafsluitingwhichparents canwatch

  8. Organisation and development Line coordinator: • is responsiblefor the content, developmentand the organisation. • directs the teacher’s workshop • Keeps in contact withotherpartiessuch as artists
