PODIATRY 2014/15 pan-London planned commissioning position: maintain commissions at 37 Planning for this profession is led by Health Education North Central and East London for the whole of London. • London demand forecast: podiatry Please note: only 32 of the 37 agreed commissions in 2013/14 were filled A 42.2% oversupply is predicted in 2018/19. • Rationale for decision • Increasingly, activity is being delivered by a wider range of providers under AQP (Any Qualified Provider). The future workforce demand of the private sector is not clear. • A significant oversupply is forecast for this profession in five years’ time. This would lead to a 44% oversupply in 2018/19. • It was decided not to decrease podiatry commissions in 2014/15.
