  3. Appearance • Sloth bears have shaggy, dusty-black coats. They have pale, short haired muzzles. With long and curved claws. Sloth bears have U or Y shaped marking on their chest.

  4. Habitat • Sloth bears live in Indian subcontinent, Sri Lanka, India, Bhutan, Nepal, and Bangladesh.

  5. Food • Sloth bears eat fruit, berries, ants, bees, and honey. They also eat termites.

  6. Young • Sloth bears carry their cubs on their backs. Sloth bears give birth to two cubs. They are born in underground dens.

  7. Interesting Facts • Sloth bears move slowly that’s how they got their name. Sloth is an old English word that means slow. The first people to see sloth bears described them as bear like sloths.
