  1. ABOUT GRAFFITI BY: JACQUELINE RAE FARQUHARSON

  2. Dedication I dedicate this photo essay to my wonderful teachers Caitlin & Carolyn for helping me write this photo essay and helping me put everything in place that I needed help with so thank you. And to my family who helped me take the photos and bring me around the City when they could be doing something more important.

  3. WHAT THE GOOD SIDE OF GRAFFITI LOOKS LIKE

  4. WHAT THE BAD SIDE OF GRAFFITI LOOKS LIKE This photo shows what the bad side of graffiti is and it shows that people want to graffiti everywhere. This photo shows that people don’t care what property they are destroying and they just want to ruin something that is not theirs.

  5. A graffiti artist A graffiti artist named Joel says that, “Graffiti is a way you express your self and it is a way that people see who you really are and what you love the most” and I do agree with him.

  6. WHAT IS THIS ABOUT? This photo shows that Graffiti can be about anything and it shows how people express themself and how graffiti can be used in artistic ways and not just bad ways.

  7. These photos show how people vandalize other peoples’ belongings Graffiti is everywhere including around New Your City buildings and trucks. This is a vandalized truck next to a fruit stand in New York City

  8. These photos shown here were taken in Queens and the reason why I went to this specific place is because I know that there is a lot of graffiti there.

  9. Graffiti all started in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on trains and then it started appearing on buildings ,poster-board, phone boxes, under ground tunnels, busses and finally on Subway Cars. (www.Thehistorybehindgraffiti.com) According to www.Howgraffitiallstarted.com , graffiti is an art that can be used in many ways. Graffiti used to be gang members favorite way to mark up their territory to tell other gang members to get out of their way/space. I think that graffiti is a good way to show people their talent and I think that graffiti is a good way to express yourself. It is a good way to tell the world that you have atalent. I surveyed a lot of people in a fifth grade class and some said that graffiti is not such a good thing but some kids in the class think that graffiti is good but it depends how it is used. A lot of people don’t know that late after the 1960’s graffiti became a famous type of art form that got a little out of hand. All this art is going to be famous and the place I went to take my photos is a place where graffiti is well known. That place is meant for graffiti, it is a special place people all across the world come to see. The graffiti artist that I met said that, “People from London, Japan, Mexico and other places around the world come here just to see the graffiti that’s made here.”
