  3. Teaching Across the Curriculum Teaching across the curriculum is an increasingly popular way of instructing students because it covers a variety of subjects in one lesson.

  4. Teaching Across the Curriculum One lesson might include instruction in Art Reading History Science English “Teaching across the curriculum allows a student to be introduced to various ways to incorporate learning into life…”

  5. In Groups of 2, 3 or 4 • Choose a topic in the area of • Art • Science • History • Reading

  6. Prepare a Lesson in 35 Minutes Art and Mathematics Create your own drawing with at least four circles or semicircles. Feel free to put other objects in your picture. Based on your drawing, compute the area of each of the circles drawn. Organize a way that you will present your drawing and computations to the class. You will have seven minutes to present this lesson.

  7. Prepare a Lesson in 35 Minutes Science and Mathematics  In your group, review and complete the entire worksheet that describes how the rotation of a bicycle relates to the circumference and its distance. Plan and organize a way that you will present this lesson to the other students in class. You will have seven minutes to present this lesson. Science and the Circumference.pdf

  8. Prepare a Lesson in 35 Minutes History and Mathematics In your group, review and complete the entire worksheet that describes how Archimedes discovered pi. Organize a way that you will present this to the other students in class. You will have seven minutes to present this lesson.   9. Prepare a Lesson in 35 Minutes Reading and Mathematics Read a book from the Sir Cumference Series by Cindy Newuschwander. You have your choice of reading Sir Cumference and the First Round Table, Sir Cumference and the Dragon of Pi, and Sir Cumference and the Isle of Immeter. Present one of the books to the class, reading a few samples of the pages. Explain how this book might be beneficial when reinforcing a concept to your middle school students. You will have seven minutes to present this lesson.
