International Meeting “Teachers Understanding Mathemathics in Pisa (TUMP)”

The TUMP meeting in Baeza aims to promote international actions and exchange experiences to improve the teaching and learning of mathematics. The meeting will focus on external assessments in mathematics and aims to establish institutional cooperation between associations of teachers.

FESPM International Relations The main aim of the International Relations Secretary is to promote international actions, as well as the exchange of experiences and information with other international organizations in order to improve the teaching and learning of mathematics at all educational levels.

SeRIn – Actions on European “dimension” (I) • Working topic focused on external assessments in Mathematics (PISA power)-Narrow collaboration with INEE • International Meeting “Culture and comparisons in international evaluations in Mathematics”, March 2014-Cantabria (Spain), with participants from 8 countries: France, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Spain and United Kingdom • Erasmus+ KA2 Project “TRUMP” (FESPM, Univ. of Manchester, Univ. of Turin, Univ. of Duissburg-Essen, APM, ATM ) • Poster on TRUMP in CERME9, February 2015-Prague

  5. SeRIn – Actions on European “dimension” (II) Meeting TUMP, May 2015-Baeza (APM, APEMP, FESPM, INEE , INVALSI, IREM) Our expectation is not only to develop the whole meeting programme but also to get to some conclusions that allows us to mantain links in future.

  6. Some expected meeting outcomes • Common position on external evaluations in Mathematics • Sharing good practices carried out in this context in several countries • Establishing institutional cooperation on this issue between associations of teachers (joint project, periodical meetings, etc.)
