  3. The C-E-R model • The Claim, Evidence, Reasoning (C-E-R) model is designed to help us understand how scientists develop quality scientific explanations. • Understanding how scientists think and how they develop their explanations and theories is important to understanding science itself.

  4. Goals for the Chapter • Learn about the Theory of Evolution and evidence that is used to support this theory • Understand the development of this theory in the context of a historical timeline • Develop critical thinking skills that help us examine evidence for ALL theories.

  5. Question of the Day • What is the model we have been using the last two days that is a model for creating a good scientific explanation? • List one thing that each of these pieces needs to do, or to be.

  6. Question of the Day • What is the model we have been using the last two days that is a model for creating a good scientific explanation? • List one thing that each of these pieces needs to do, or to be.

  7. Activity for the day • If you were gone Friday (03/16/2012) please also see the sheet attached below this presentation on our website. This will be due on Tuesday (03/20/2012).
