Good challenging different
Good, Challenging & Different

  • Good: Past efforts to start chapter ensured people were primed to finally make it happen; opening meeting was well attended, including Sheila & Trevor; great enthusiasm from Front Range colleagues; tremendous financial support from sister chapters in Colorado, Region, and International

  • Challenging: Economy made it hard to start new Chapter, and we lost some of our momentum in late 2008; candidate for Treasurer had to be replaced; unpredictable weather during winter months made it hard to plan meetings (some members must travel 1-2 hours to get to Grand Junction); most members are from the public sector, with fewer corporate resources available to the Chapter (conference calling, meeting technology); most members have not yet paid Chapter dues

  • Different next time: Should have gotten folks more committed to joining ARMA when we first met last September
