  9. About Linkin Park The band rose to international fame with their debut album, Hybrid Theory, Which was certified Diamond by the RIAA in 2005 and multi-platinum in several other countries. Its Following studio album, Meteora, Continued the band’s Success, topping the Billboard 200 album chart in 2003. In 2003, MTV2 named Linkin Park the 6th greatest band of the music video era and the 3rd best of the new millennium behind Oasis and Coldplay.

  10. About Linkin Park ( Continued) Billboard ranked Linkin Park #19 on the Best Artists of the Decade chart. The Band’s most recent work, the concept album A Thousand Suns, was released on September 8, 2010. Linkin Park has sold over 50 million albums worldwide and has won 2 Grammy Awards.

HISTORYEarly Years (1996-1999) • Three high school Friends which were the band of Linkin Park had a vision, and talent after they graduated from high school the California natives began to take their music more seriously. They started a band called Xero, through limited time in resources the band began producing and recording songs with Shinodas make-shift bedroom studio in 1996.

  12. Early Years (Continued) • Jeff blue which was the vice president of Zomba Music, had referred him to the band in March 1999. Chester Bennington became to stand out as having a unique singing voice. They then started a new band called Hybrid theory, but then changed it to the one and only Linkin Park. The band still struggled after getting back together, and changing their name, but asked for help by Jeff Blue which was the vice president of Warner Bros.

  13. Early Years (Continued) Frustration grew on the band and they eventually failed on a record deal. Two of the the most important band members left the group and went on to other deals. After spending time trying to find replacements for the open positions Xero recruited and vocalist Chester Bennington. Records and had got them a deal with the company in 1999. The band released it breakthrough album which was the name they have giving the name before Hybrid Theory.

  14. Hybrid Theory (2000 – 2002) Linkin Park released Hybrid Theory on October 24, 2000. Hybrid Theory was a massive commercial success, it sold more than 4.8 million copies during its debut year. Hybrid Theory won a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance for the song “Crawling”. Within a year’s stretch, Linkin Park had performed at over 320 concerts. http://pl.st/s/805472273

  15. Hybrid Theory (Continued) Now reunited with former bassist Phoenix, the band began work on a remix album called Reanimation. Reanimation debuted on July 30,2002, featuring the likes of Black Thought, Jonathan Davis, Aaron Lewis, and many others. Reanimation claimed the second spot on the Billboard 200, and sold nearly 270,000 copies during its debut week. Hybrid Theory is also in RIAA’s Top 100 Albums.

In December of 2002 the band was inspired by the rocky region of METEORA in Greece, which is where there new album name came from. Meteora has a mixture of the bands previous NU METAL and RAPCORE styles with newer effects.

  17. Meteora (Continued) Including a Japanese flute that they play in the album. This album earned worldwide recognition, which made NUMBER #1 IN THE us AND uk, THEY WERE number #2 IN Australia. This album sold 800,000 copies during the first week, and it is also ranked as the best-selling album on the billboard charts at the time. Linkin Park also received significant recognition during the 2004 Radio Music Awards, winning the Artist of the Year and Song of the year (“Numb”).

Instead, Linkin Park continued to tour and work on many side projects. Linkin Park also participated in numerous charitable events, most notably raised money to benefit victims of hurricane Charley in and later hurricane Katrina in 2005.

  19. Side Projects (Continued) The band donated $75,000 to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation in March 2004. They also helped relief efforts for the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami victims by staging several charity concerts and setting up and additional fund called “Music for Relief “. The band would later be reunited with Jay-Z at the Grammy Award Ceremony 2006, during which the performed “Numb/Encore”, route to winning a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

They recorded and made it in 2006, The band recorded 30 to 50 songs in august. Minutes to midnight was released on May 15, 2007. After 14 months working on the album , the band members went on to working on there next album. Minutes to midnight sold over 625,000 copies in the first week.

  21. Minutes to Midnight (continued) The album's first single “ What I've Done,” was released on April 2, and was on MTV and Fuse with in the same week. The song is also used for the famous movie, Transformers. The band also had success with the rest of the album singles.

  22. A Thousand Suns (2008 – 2011) Shinoda told IGN that the new album would be ‘ genre-busting,’ while building off of elements in Minutes to Midnight. He also mentioned that the album would be more experimental and “hopefully more cutting edge.” Bennington also addressed the media to confirm that Rick Robin would return to produce the new album. A Thousand Suns (Continued) On January 19, 2010, Linkin Park released a new song entitled “Not Alone” as part of a compilation from Music For Relief called Download to Donate For Haiti in support of the Haiti Earthquake crisis. Linkin Park made a game for the iPod touch and iPhone called 8-bit rebellion! Linkin Park got a lot of Grammy's for the the Album A Thousand Suns and for their top hit of the Album The Catalyst.
