  2. National waste management plan 2002 • SEA was carried out: • to compare different techniques and define preferred technique • to investigate different need scenarios for incineration to determine needed incineration capacity

National waste management plan 2002 • Selection preferred techniques • 26 waste streams investigated (asbestos, batteries, dissolvents, waste oil etc) Example waste oil: • in rotary drum incinerator • use as fuel in cement oven • additional fuel in power station • distallation with sodium treatment

  4. National waste management plan2002 • Comparison techniques: • LCA (all effects incl re-use of material • General themes: • climate change • acidification • euthrophication • toxicity (humans, ecology) • use of resources • disruption: biodiversity • 12 LCA themes
