  1. Diseases Caused Due to Food Adulteration Food adulteration means anything that adds or removes foods that makes them unhealthy and harmful for consumption. This forgery can be intentional or unintentional. Food adulteration has become a widespread practice in our country and we consume these foods almost daily, which have numerous harmful effects on our health. Food adulterations containing toxic chemicals such as formalin are common and regularly used in fish, fruit, meat, and milk, causing various types of cancer, asthma, and skin diseases. Dyes, calcium carbide, urea, motor oil, and even some approved preservatives are used in excessive amounts that attack various organs in the human body. Most of the time it causes cancers such as colon, stomach ulcers, chronic liver disease including cirrhosis and liver failure, electrolyte imbalance, and eventually kidney failure. Heart disease, blood disease, and bone marrow abnormalities are also detected. The probability of malignancy increases and neurological disorders or brain functions are also often affected. Skin problems, including allergic manifestations, are often observed. Let us read more about the diseases caused by the adulteration of food. 1. Milk adulteration is usually done by unhygienic water, chalk powder, soap powder, hydrogen peroxide, and urea. It causes the conditions of food poisoning (illness caused by food contaminated with bacteria, viruses, parasites, or toxins), Heart problems (conditions of the heart that include diseased vessels, structural problems, and blood clots), cancer (a disease in which abnormal cells divide uncontrollably and destroy body tissue.), and diarrhea (loose, watery stools that occur more frequently than usual).

  2. 2. Black Pepper adulteration is usually done by Papaya seeds that can cause liver problems and stomach disorders. 3. Oil adulteration by Argemone seeds can cause Epidemic dropsy (it is caused by consuming mustard oil contaminated with argemone seed oil. It usually occurs in outbreaks with acute manifestations of bilateral pitting edema, erythema, and local tenderness along with cardiac and respiratory problems in severe cases resulting in death), and Severe Glaucoma (Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that damage the optic nerve, whose health is essential for good vision. Therefore, it is simply a group of eye diseases that can cause blindness). 4. Ghee adulteration is extremely common by the use of animal fat and vegetable oil. It causes severe anaemia (A condition in which the blood doesn't have enough healthy red blood cells) and Cardiomegaly (enlargement of the heart which is usually a sign of another underlying condition). 5. Chilli Powder Adulteration by the use of sawdust and additional colors can cause severe stomach problems and cancer buildup in the body.
