  2. Now-a-days, people more relies on the packaging style of food, and the design carried out on it. But, packaging of food stuff is also essential for ensuring the safety, hygiene, preventing it from contamination, separate from the environmental dust, moist and helps expanding the shelf life. Food packaging is a process, used for protecting, identifying and facilitating the sale and distribution of agricultural, industrial and consumer products. Packaging is an indirect way of industrial and marketing strategy, that helps in the maximum sale of food products. Types of Food Packaging Packaging of foods can be done on many ways, according to the shape, size, weight. 9 types of food packaging are easily applicable to many food products. Aseptic Packaging - It is manufactured of paper, polythene and aluminum mixture with a layer of polythene. Used for foods that are sterile and maintained sterile like milk, drinks containing milk, and helps to preserve long duration of processed foods.

  3. Trays - Trays are made up of flat and thick paperboard with raised edges, that assist in keeping the product in place. Used for meat, plant seeds and drinks. Bags – bags can be produced by thin, plastic material to prevent from environmental particles. Numerous food stuffs can be bagged like fruits, vegetables, snacks, and some essentials. Boxes - This are feasible to carry and perfect for transportation, arrangements of food products. Mostly, boxes are made of metals, wood and corrugated fiberboards for food products like cereals, frozen pizza. Cans - It's made of steel and other thin metals containers coated with tin for avoiding ruptures and assists in easy transportation and preservation. Usually found in departmental stores probably used for liquid items like soft drinks, gravy, soup, meats. Flexible packaging - Mostly, it similar to bags, and non-rigid packaging, has many shape according to the product. usually for food materials like salad. This provides the protection of food from the environment, prevents the contamination, gives enough flexibility for transporting goods.

  4. Pallets - Utilized for mass transportation, where the boxes shrink wrapped for extra safety and to decrease the movement. Wrappers - Thin plastic packaging mainly used on the individual products like candies. Cartons - This are manufacture of corrugated cardboard, coated with paraffin or plastic for durability. Cartons are accessible for many types of food materials according to the texture. Egg shaped cartons which are specifically designed for egg and for convenient transportation. Folding cartons are made of flat cardboard pieces, that can be assembled by a food manufacturer. Aseptic cartons are designed for aseptic materials like milk, drinks.
