Scientific Notation • Used for writing very small or very large numbers. • Written as the coefficient multiplied by 10 raised to a power: 3.0 x 104 • For numbers > 10 exponents are positive • For numbers < 10 exponents are negative • To multiply in SciNots, add exponents. • To divide in SciNots, subtract exponents.
