  2. Previously we examined the women in the novel; today we’re going to turn our attention to the men.

  3. Break your paper into five sections. Four squares and one rectangle. See the board for a diagram.

  4. Prompt One (box one): Which male character are you most confused by? Find a quote that addresses your confusion. Start your response with this quote. You’re writing for five minutes. Rasheed Jalil Tariq Mullah Faizullah Hakim (Laila’s dad) Noor & Ahmad (Laila’s brothers)

  5. Box Two: Write a dialogue of you and the character building off of this confusion. What would you ask the character? How would he respond? You’re writing for 10 minutes here.
