Methodology • Select all the incidents which occurred on I-5 N for year 2007 • Find the precipitation recorded at the PDX weather station at incident start time • Divide incidents into 2 groups: • Incidents which occurred when precipitation>0 • Incidents which occurred when precipitation=0 • Ignore the incidents which occurred after 9 PM and before 6 AM

Results • Total No of Incidents in year 2007 :2143 • Total No of Incidents in year 2007 between 6 AM and 9 PM :1916 • Total No of Rain Hours between 6 AM and 9 PM for year 2007:642 • Total No of Dry hours between 6 AM and 9 PM for Year 2007:5198 • Total No of incidents when it was raining in 2007:223 • Total Number of incidents when it was not raining:1766 • Average incidents per rain hour: 0.35 • Average incidents per dry hour: 0.34
