  1. RTÉ Television Scheduling Drama Strategy

  2. Schedule Strategy • The overall Schedule Strategy for both RTÉ One and Two is agreed by the Television Programme Strategy Group on an annual and quarterly basis. This drives most of our Commissioning and Acquisitions decisions. We have to make the budget go as far as possible.

  3. The Channels • RTÉ One and RTÉ Two are complicated mixed genre PSB channels that are topical and reactive, with very different core audience profiles. RTÉ One - Adults 35+ RTÉ Two – Adults 15-34

  4. Complimentary Scheduling • We have a Complimentary Scheduling Strategy across RTÉ One and Two. Where possible, we look to avoid genre and demographic clashes in a two channel offering. We have very specific audience targets for each slot on both channels.

  5. RTÉ Television Drama • Everybody pays their Licence Fee and has the right to expect RTÉ to produce Television Drama that reflects their lives in some shape or form. We unashamedly want the biggest audiences possible for every Drama Production. We are not interested in commissioning content for the chattering classes or the Film Festival cognoscenti.

  6.
