  1. Beautiful Attitudes Persecuted 10 God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. 11 “God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you[c] and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. 12 Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way. Matthew 5:10-12

  2. Blessed Persecution? • Is either verbal with the tongue, by cruel mocking and reproachful language; or real, by deeds, such as confiscation of goods, banishment, imprisonment of body and innumerable sorts of death: thus used or rather abused – these saints are HAPPY!

  3. Blessed Persecution? • REALLY???? When you are persecuted in one town, flee to the next. I tell you the truth, the Son of Man will return before you have reached all the towns of Israel. Matthew 10:23

  4. But since they don’t have deep roots, they don’t last long. They fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God’s word. Matthew 13:21 Do you remember what I told you? ‘A slave is not greater than the master.’ Since they persecuted me, naturally they will persecute you. And if they had listened to me, they would listen to you. John 15:20

  5. Saul was one of the witnesses, and he agreed completely with the killing of Stephen. A great wave of persecution began that day, sweeping over the church in Jerusalem; and all the believers except the apostles were scattered through the regions of Judea and Samaria.Acts 8:1

  6. And then, dear brothers and sisters, you suffered persecution from your own countrymen. In this way, you imitated the believers in God’s churches in Judea who, because of their belief in Christ Jesus, suffered from their own people, the Jews. 1 Thessalonians 2:14 Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 2 Timothy 3:12

  7. For a disciple – persecution is assumed. • Persecution is to be expected • Persecution is to be shared in with the sufferings of Christ • Persecution is often at the hands who should receive us and know us best

  8. 2. The path to blessing! • That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10

  9. 2. The path to blessing! • And God will use this persecution to show his justice and to make you worthy of his Kingdom, for which you are suffering. 2 Thessalonians 1:5

  10. 2. The path to blessing! • Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 2 Timothy 3:12

  11. 2. The path to blessing! Anyone who is destined for prison will be taken to prison. Anyone destined to die by the sword will die by the sword. This means that God’s holy people must endure persecution patiently and remain faithful. Revelation 13:9-11This means that God’s holy people must endure persecution patiently, obeying his commands and maintaining their faith in Jesus. Revelation 14:12

  12. For a disciple – persecution is rewarded • Persecution is to be honorable • Persecution proves worthiness • Persecution is ordained by God where God can use evil and use it for good.
