  • Approximately an hour to complete the course

  • Intel Pentium III Processor

  • 256 MB RAM

  • Broadband Internet connection

  • Windows Media Player

    Locate link on left side of page: “School Toolkit”


  • Step 3: standard Microsoft™ technologies, i.e., Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 98

    Click on link: “Recognizing, Preventing, and Treating Heat-Related Illness: A Web-Based CDC Training Course” (After clicking, you will be taken to the beginning of the course)


  • Take notes! This will help you during posttest! standard Microsoft™ technologies, i.e., Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 98

  • Give yourself enough time to complete course and posttest!

  • Carefully read instructions and scenarios!

  • Don’t rush!

Who can earn continuing education credits cecs
WHO CAN EARN CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS (CECs)? standard Microsoft™ technologies, i.e., Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 98

  • Continuing Nursing Education (CNE)through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)

  • Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES)-- Continuing Education Contact Hours (CECH) through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc (NCHEC)

  • Continuing Education Units (CEU)through the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET)


  • After completing the course, a link will be provided to connect you with the CDC continuing education site

  • Click on the link

  • You will be asked to find the course and register for the course

  • Once you have registered, you will be directed to take the posttest to earn Continuing Education Credit

  • You must pass the posttest to receive your continuing education credit
