  1. Colour gradience draws the eye to the center of the poster and the main title and the distant figures showing there to be far more then meets the eye. (2004) “WHEN THERE’S NO MORE ROOM IN HELL, THE DEAD WILL WALK THE EARTH” Prophetic language engage curiosity of the audience and enforce the inevitability of what is claimed to happen. Director: Zack Snyder Ominous silhouettes all slouched, implying that they are zombies but not explicitly. The smaller figure shows perhaps a child and the one flanking it is more directly forward making its positioning threatening. Figures fill the entire middle of the poster which is the visual focus point ,showing their quantity and potency as a mass. The melting effect shows decadence and decay which reflects a world filled with dead. Remake of the original : “Dawn of the Dead” by George A. Romero

  2. (2002) Director: Danny Boyle Red background implies danger and also ties into the redness of the infected eyes during the film . Huge menacing and unnatural eyes in the foreground making the main focus of the poster. The creature is staring directly at the viewer making a direct connection with them adding to the scare factor. Solitary protagonist shown small compared to the monstrous eyes at the top of the character. This conveys isolation and vulnerability, appealing to the audiences emotional sympathy “YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED” Ultimatum, referring also to the numbered title. “Your” creates a direct appeal to the reader, making a more dramatic impact. Significant landmark showing the indicating that the film is set in London.

  3. (2004) Ironic statement as the beginning shows ordinary people behaving like zombies in their day to day lives. Director: Edgar Wright Hilariously isolated main character in a sea of zombies holding the most inappropriately bright bunch of flowers . The perplexed expression adds to the comical effect of how out of place he is. Zombies pressed up against the glass an nod to the head of iconic “Dawn of the Dead” scene, and humorously ignore the main character pressed up with them. Little detail on the date which refers to the motions of zombies shuffling. “SHAUN OF THE DEAD” combining the protagonists name with the cult zombie film “Dawn of the dead” creates a humorous pun. The hand of the zombie indicating clearly zombies would be involved.
