  2. Software Engineer • Job Tasks: • Design software and test it to make sure it does what's it supposed to do • Work with other software engineers to create software • Help people decide on what software they really need • Make sure the software will work for a long time

  3. The environment job occurs in • 32% designing computer systems • 10% manufacturing of computers and electronic products • 8% insurance and finance • 7% software publishing

  4. Significant points • Need to have a creative mind • Needs to be able to create software for computers • Jobs will increase faster than average • Etc.

Qualifications For this Job You have to have a bachelor’s degree in computer science and strong computer-programming skills. • Skills needed • Analytical skills • Communication skills • Creativity • Customer-service skills • Detail orientated • Problem solving skills • Teamwork • Technical skills

  6. Employment You will need to be most up to date with most programming tools and languages. Needs to be able to upgrade software and have good computer skills.

Job Outlook • Amount of Change in Employment 2010-2020 • Software developers in the next 8 years are projected to grow by 30% • Employment of applications developers is projected to grow by 28% • Employment of system developers is projected to grow by 32% • The total or all of these occupations will grow by 14%

  9. Summary Question: Would you want to go into this career field or job? Answer: If I had the opportunity to have this as my occupation I definitely would. I would make an ok salary and I would be doing something that I enjoy doing. I would enjoy going into the field of computers but wouldn’t want to stay there for ever, eventually I would want to get into sales or marketing.
