  2. Food Rice is eaten at almost every meal. People drink tea with every meal, too. Sushi is a kind of food Japanese eat. It’s rice and cooked or raw fish with seaweed around it.

  3. Money Japan’s money is the yen . It looks like an upper case Y with 2 lines in the middle. $1.00 is about 118 yen. There are coins for 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, and 500 yen.

  4. Clothing A kimono is a long robe with wide sleeves and a sash that is around the waist. A lot of school kids wear uniforms. Many Japanese wear Western style clothes from jeans and T-shirts to fashion outfits.

  5. Cool Facts! Mount Fuji is the tallest mountain in Japan. It is a sacred mountain. In Japan they drive on the left side. Also streets in Japan have no names.
