Habitat

  • Polar Bears live in the Arctic areas of Alaska, Canada , Greenland , Norway and Russia.

  • They spend much of their time swimming.

  • They are found in the coldest parts of the Arctic near the North Pole.


Adaptations

  • They have two thick layers of fur to keep them warm in cold weather.

  • They have blubber (fat) under their skin to keep them warm.

  • They can blend into the snow with their white fur coats so their prey can’t see them.


Their Food

  • They eat seals, beluga whales, narwhales, walruses, bowhead whales, sea birds, rodents, reindeer, ducks, fish, eggs, kelp and berries.

  • Adults weigh up to 300-600 kilograms.
